What to expect when you come to physical therapy.
When someone is referred to physical therapy, its usually because they have had an injury, surgery, or developed a pain or problem that does not go away on it's own. If you have never been to physical therapy before, you may not know what to expect. Maybe you have heard that physical therapists are people who put patients through all kinds of "physical torture" to get them better. That is the farthest thing from the truth. Most people come to physical therapy because they are already hurting, or maybe having difficulty performing daily activities, such as after a stroke, and they just are not able to get back to a normal life.
A physical therapist's job is to help reduce or eliminate your pain and restore function. Our motto is, "helping get people back to work and play faster".
So what should you expect if you have to come for physical therapy at Wake Forest Physical Therapy?
